23 Sep 2021 Come celebrate with us this Heritage weekend We believe in constantly celebrating our culture and diversity at every opportunity, but we also feel fortunate to have a special day that recognises our heritage and the unique cultural fabric of our nation. This Heritage weekend we’ve curated events that our visitors can enjoy with family and friends. Here’s what to look forward to: At Makers Landing, come celebrate our diverse culture with food and music and at Battery Park you can enjoy free drumming and marimba workshops sessions for both young and old. Are you an avid vinyl collector? The V&A Waterfront Record Fair is also back this Saturday, 25 September from 10am. WOOF Project returns to Nobel Square The WOOF Project has been a part of the V&A Waterfront neighbourhood for many years having experienced many amazing memories. Joanne Lefson, Director of Oscars Arc, the NPO behind the project, shares stories behind this much-loved dog adoption initiative. You can visit the team at Nobel square every Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Creative talents chosen to participate in Artist Alliance programme To celebrate creativity and the arts, we put a call out to find up and coming artists in the fields of fine art, photography and filmmaking, fashion, illustration and design to take part in a two-month training programme brought to you by our Artist Alliance Programme. We’re proud to announce the 12 participants of the programme, who will work with select mentors in acquiring essential business skills and industry knowledge. Footfall update Our visitor numbers are moving upward nicely in line with the relaxation of lockdown restrictions, as well as our longer trading hours with the average daily footfall at 32k visitors per day recorded this week. It’s finally feeling like Spring and we’re looking forward to a busy long weekend with the public holiday and it coinciding with payday.
