Heritage Jam is a family-friendly event free to the public and patrons of Battery Park – children as young as 3 years old can participate in the workshops – adult supervision is required for children younger than 8 years old.
There will be free drumming and marimba workshop sessions running from 09:30 – 13:30 as well as performances from local school marimba bands. Strict Covid-19 protocols will be observed with a maximum capacity of 50 people per session – arrive early to book your spot! The day will culminate in a collaborative performance by the professional Marimba Jam Performing Band and a touring marimba band from KZN called Music Voyage. So grab your mask and a sunhat and come on down to the Battery Park for a fun-filled day of making music together!
