GLOBAL GREEN RECOGNITION FOR ADIDAS INTERIOR

Our Adidas concept store was recently awarded Platinum LEED for its sustainable store design, setting a new benchmark for green retail in our neighbourhood.

A massive congratulations to our Adidas concept store for setting a new benchmark for sustainable retail in our neighbourhood with their Platinum LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certification for Interior Design and Construction in the retail category. The achievement is a first for Adidas as a global brand and a feather in our cap as a business that has been on a journey of implementing green initiatives across our property.

Opened in 2021, Adidas South Africa brought a fresh take to eco-friendly retail by introducing its first-ever sustainable concept store that takes inspiration from the outdoors with a design that features natural elements such as a variety of living plant life, reclaimed wood, and other recycled material.  Click here to read more.

Yacht skipper, Lucky Ntuli, awarded for his heroic rescue at sea.

The NSRI (Nationals Sea Rescue Institute) awards committee recently hosted its awards evening to honour volunteers and dedicated individuals who have risked their lives to save others. Amongst the honourees was Escape Catamaran skipper, Tamsanqa Lucky Ntuli who helped prevent a potential tragedy in our harbour earlier this year, after a visitor accidentally fell into the water.

The NSRI teams were at sea, in their home base at the V&A, going about their routine training exercises when they received the call. After alerting Port Control and nearby vessels, Lucky, without hesitating, jumped in the water to assist the individual. NSRI commended the charter boat operator for his swift response on the day.
