Neighbourhood News Update: 22 December 2021

V & A Waterfront Festive Campaign. Client: Platform Creative. Creative Director: Cathy O’Clery.

We have a few more restaurants to welcome to our neighbourhood this week and our summer festive programme continues with an endless list of activities for all to enjoy. Although this year has had its challenges due to the pandemic, there is still so much more to celebrate and look back on and we’re glad to see our neighbourhood buzzing again and we hope that this can continue up until the end of 2022 and beyond. In keeping with our festive theme of spreading joy and hope, we would like to wish all our tenants and visitors a wonderful holiday season and a Happy New Year.

Harbour View: Seattle, Rootbar, Royale Eatery & The Creamery

Whether it’s a coffee, a scrumptious lunch or dessert to cure the sweet tooth – Seattle, Rootbar, Royale Eatery & The Creamery have it all, in one fabulous space overlooking the Victoria Basin.

The Waterside & Pier – Scheduled to open this weekend

Situated in the beautiful Pierhead building, guests will be welcomed to PIER Restaurant on the first floor, and The Waterside Restaurant on the ground floor – with each offering a different, but equally exceptional, dining experience.

PIER Restaurant will bring an intimate, multi-course fine-dining experience to one of the world’s most-loved destinations. At the helm will be John Norris-Rogers, who left La Colombe to join the launch team at La Petite Colombe, which, under his guidance, was recently named the second-best restaurant in Africa at the recent TripAdvisor Traveller’s Choice ‘Best of the Best’ Awards. Dishes that diners can look forward to include confit mussels slowly cooked in chorizo oil or oysters poached tableside by the chefs.

The Waterside will offer two different menus upon its launch – a 4-course menu with selected choices available to the diner, or a more formal 8-course tasting menu – making it the ideal option for all occasions – from a working lunch to celebratory meal with friends – or impromptu pop-in on a beautiful summer’s day.

The fun continues right up until 2022. Here’s what visitors can look forward to this festive:

Footfall update

Our weekends continue to move on a positive trend. The past week’s Friday, Saturday and this week’s Sunday recorded the busiest trading and footfall days of this year, with the hot weather as well as the late school closures bumping us to highs of close to 60k visitors per day.
