V&A Heritage Showcase The V&A Waterfront has become the home to a variety of creative artists, who delight visitors to our neighbourhood on a daily basis. In the spirit of Heritage Day, we’re presenting a diversity of amazing local artists for a vibrant musical showcase to celebrate our heritage and South Africa’s rich tapestry of cultures. 23 – 25 September, Amphitheatre Record & Music Fair The monthly V&A Record & Music Fair is fast becoming a must for all vinyl junkies. Expect some serious crate digging and memorabilia shopping, with over 3,000 vinyl records waiting to be discovered, as well as a great selection of CDs, music books, band merch, tees and cassettes on sale. DJs will be on the decks, keeping crowds entertained. 24 September, 10:00-14:00, Watershed WOMAD The V&A Waterfront brings the World of Music, Arts and Dance to Cape Town. The WOMAD South African Safari 2022 is being presented around the country as a series of unique and intimate boutique showcase events, including workshops and performances. Originally founded by Peter Gabriel, WOMAD is one of the longest and most respected cultural festivals in the world, and celebrates its 40th anniversary this year. 1-2 October, see website for various locations around the Waterfront German Chamber Choir Catch Germany’s Domgymnasium Verden Chamber Choir on its South African tour. The 30-member choir has previously performed with the likes of Slam Funk, the Saxophone Ensemble, Sinfonia Piccola and Jazz DoGs, and has a programme filled with different genres, from classic to pop and romance. 5 October, 18:00 – 18:45, Amphitheatre, free
