History of the V&A Waterfront

Steeped in history

The V&A Waterfront was first established in 1988, conceived as a mixed-use area with a focus on retail, tourism and residential development with a working harbour at its centre. Prior to that however, the location itself was a central part of the very beginning of the settlement of the city of Cape Town.
