The art of batik has been practised for centuries and Edward Muwayire has captured the spirit of this art form magnificently. The themes of his work have their base in Africa and feature beautiful earth tones and muted colours; the subjects are full of life and represent the raw energy of Africa. As is the nature of batik art, each piece is unique and original. It`s well worth the trip to view these original pieces of African art and to see Edward at work in the Watershed in the V&A Waterfront.
