THE V&A CELEBRATES THE ART OF BASKETRY

The V&A Waterfront’s award-winning festive celebrations come to life this week, with the opening of a large, and comprehensive exhibition of African basketry showcasing woven vessels, furniture, jewellery, and much more from different communities stretching from KZN, Ghana to Zambia and Uganda. This joins the installation of equally beautiful Travelling Totems that compliment other installations that form the cornerstone of the neighbourhood’s festive décor over the December holiday season.

The 100 Beautiful Baskets exhibition, which was curated by Platform Creative, opened for public viewing from 25 November.

Tesla Model X display at the V&A

Growthpoint Properties and Rubicon Group, a sustainable technology company have partnered to raise the profile of renewable energy by bringing the first Tesla Model X Performance Edition all-electric SUV into the country, the only model in the continent. The vehicle will be hosted at the V&A this Saturday, outside Mugg & Bean. Visitors also stand to win an EcoFlow River Pro portable battery valued at R12 000.

Cabo Beach Club

Escape to a summer paradise and experience dining like no other at the new Cabo Beach Club restaurant, situated in the former Shimmy space. Guests can expect a contemporary take on sushi, wood-fired traditional Neapolitan pizzas, bountiful seafood dishes and mouth-watering burgers to name a few, delivered under the guidance of well-known local chef, Ryan Cole.

Footfall update

We are continuing to register growth in visitor numbers week on week with international tourists being seen across our neighbourhood. Our numbers were 287k over the past week.
