ENVIRONMENT MONTH ACTIVITIES SHOWCASE SUSTAINABILITY EFFORTS AT THE WATERFRONT

June marks National Environment Month – and includes World Environment Day on 5 June and World Oceans Day on 8 June.

As a neighbourhood keenly aware of our impact on the environment, we have recently updated our green lease.  In essence, it means that everyone in our space aligns with our strategic sustainability and development goals. We have also partnered with the SA Plastics Pact to eliminate 12 single-use plastic products by 2025. Read the full story here.

We are also excited to welcome the Energy Observer to the harbour from 12 June. This is the first self sufficient boat, able to draw its own energy and is also a working laboratory. Come and visit the Foundation Village on Jetty 2.

The Department of Forestry, Fisheries and the Environment will host public open days on the SA Agulhas on 10 and 11 June. To gain access, receive your free ticket here.
