Zara debuts their new concept store at the V&A

Two floors spanning over 2,700 square meters is what visitors can expect to see at the first-ever Zara concept store, now open at Victoria Wharf Shopping centre. The all-white in-store design, featuring brown and stone finishes is an intentional layout, purposefully thought out to give priority to the visual aesthetic of the garments for easier shopping.

Many brands have come into the fold when it comes to building sustainable stores, putting the environment first. Zara continues the movement with the design of this store, the build complies with Inditex’s (global fashion retail group) environmental commitments and incorporates the latest innovations to reduce water and energy consumption compared with a conventional store. Their sustainability efforts also continue into the manufacturing process of creating garments.

V&A scores at Absa Supplier Development Awards

The 2021 Absa Business Day Supplier Development Awards recognises and celebrates companies committed to using Supplier Development to build thriving, inclusive, and transformative supply chains in Africa. The Awards encourage collaboration and learning by sharing best practice across the African continent, presenting winners with a platform to share their own experiences.

The V&A’s win was for its contribution to supporting small businesses within the V&A, during the Covid-19 pandemic. This is the second win at these awards after winning the Newcomer Award last year.
