Watershed Design Lab promotes local startups

In late 2021, the Watershed introduced the Watershed Design Lab, a retail-readiness training programme, in partnership with the Craft and Design Institute. The initiative is true to the Watershed’s ethos of promoting local brands and offering a commercial platform and enterprise support. The focus of the incubator is to assist businesses with product development and business training to enable the possibility of their own store in the Watershed in the future. Find out more about the programme and all the businesses involved here: https://www.waterfront.co.za/blogs/watershed-design-lab/

Weekly footfall update

Watershed showed increasing foot traffic numbers, moving 8% up for the week-on-week comparison and 7% up on last month. This is due to the increasing numbers of foreign nationals visiting the space. Across the rest of the property, we’ve been seeing marginal improvement with events such as last week’s Motor Show drawing visitors over the weekend. We expect the trend to slow as we exit summer with our daily visitor count currently at 44k people per day.
