KICK OFF THE HOLIDAY SEASON AT THE WATERFRONT

Experience festive cheer throughout our neighbourhood, with activities for young and old at Battery Park, Silo District, Makers Landing, the Amphitheatre, and Centre Court to keep everyone entertained. Below are some of the exciting events we have on our line-up:

Disney 100 Outdoor Cinema Experience

Disney fans of all ages will be able to experience the magic of Disney at the Outdoor Cinema with six timeless stories during the day or under the stars located at the V&A Waterfront’s Croquet.

Friday Night Jazz

Friday Night Jazz at Makers Landing continues this festive. Visitors will experience a vibrant, intimate atmosphere that brings people together through live music and food, resulting in an enjoyable multi-sensory experience.

Take the Stage presented by MTN

The V&A Waterfront Take the Stage Series, a platform for emerging South African musicians, is back this summer. The artist line-up for December includes Stone Ngandu, Daniel Baron, and Claire Phillips.

Date: 17, 26 December and 1 January.

Naledi’s Festive Dream – a theatre production

Experience the magic of the season with “Naledi’s Festive Dream”, a whimsical 40-minute play specially crafted for kids to enjoy. Follow 10-year-old Capetonian Naledi on an enchanting journey as her festive wish to meet Santa’s crew comes to life in this lively Christmas production directed by Lee Rath.

Date: 16 to 23 December 2023

Santa comes to the Waterfront

Capture the magic of the season with a visit to Santa and his merry elves, who will be spreading joy this festive season, offering kids the perfect opportunity for festive photos and holiday cheer.

Mini Makers Cooking Classes at Makers Landing

Makers Landing runs a food education programme for kids between five and 11 years old and teenagers between 12 and 16 years old. The programme aims to empower tomorrow’s food innovators, enthusiasts, and entrepreneurs in a fun, safe and interactive environment.

New Year’s Eve Celebration

Join us as we usher in the New Year with the V&A Waterfront’s New Year’s Eve celebration, featuring artist such as Sun-El Musician, Just Jinjer, and Mandisi Dyantyis performing on a specially-constructed stage by the water’s edge followed by a spectacular five-minute firework display.

Silo Concerts (every first Friday of every month until March 2024)

Silo Concerts are back to entertain visitors with a wide range of performances that will have you tapping your feet and swaying to the music all night long.
