V&A Waterfront Take the Stage Series is a platform for emerging South African musicians and musical ensembles to showcase their talents at V&A Waterfront. Experience these emerging artists live for a series of pop-up performances which are free for all to attend.
Zeke Le Grange is a Cape Town based saxophonist who embodies a number of styles including Funk, RnB, Blues, Bebop, Bossa Nova and Afro Pop/Jazz genres. In 2011 he was selected to take part in the International Association of Schools of Jazz conference in São Paulo, Brazil under the direction of world-renowned jazz educator Dave Liebman. The following year he was selected to represent South Africa in Sweden with the Standard Bank National Youth Jazz band in 2012 & 2013.In 2014 he was selected for the Miagi orchestra which toured in Europe performing at prestigious concert halls like the Berlin Philharmonic and Concert Gebouw in Amsterdam to name a few.
He has also worked in three major theatre productions namely, Tina Turner Tribute Show, the award-winning Richard O Brian’s Rocky Horror Show and most recently King Kong Legend of A Boxer. He has performed alongside many local and international artists but most notably with local icons such as Jonathan Butler, Caiphus Semenya, Letta Mbulu, Hugh Masekela and Judith Sephuma. Some of the recordings he features on include Ramon Alexander’s Echoes of Louwskloof, Danie Bosman Ou Musikant and most recently with Ibrahim Kalil Shihab.
