V&A Waterfront Take the Stage series presented by MTN is a platform for emerging South African musicians and musical ensembles to showcase their talents at V&A Waterfront. Experience these emerging artists live for a series of pop-up performances starting November until the end of March 2022 which are free for all to attend.
Anathi Mobo is a vocalist based in Cape Town, South Africa. She was raised in a non-musical home except her brother carried the same enthusiasm for music as she did, with him playing bass guitar. Anathi is the lead vocalist for the Little Giants Big band as well as the Lady Day Big band. The Little Giants big band has performed at the Standard Bank National Youth Jazz festival in Grahamstown, the Tittiesbaai Jazz on the Rocks as well as Jazzathon – among many other huge events in and around Cape Town. Anathi was selected in 2018/19 as one of the soloists for the Artscape Youth Jazz festival as well as the lead vocalist for the EduJazz big band performing annually at the Cape Town International Jazz Festival. Anathi is currently in her final year of her Master of Music degree at the South African College of Music, University of Cape Town.
