Micaela Kleinsmith is a blossoming singer-songwriter and guitarist from Cape Town, South Africa. It was in high school where music completely reeled her in, as she performed at the Grand Arena at Grandwest Casino, on the Waterfront Amphitheater stage, as well as at the Cape Town International Airport, Jazz On The Lawn and many other venues where she was accompanied by a choir in Stuttgart, Germany.
She has since thrived in the industry, by participating in the popular singing competition Idols SA, where she proceeded to Theatre Week and made it to the group rounds on Season 12 in 2016. In the same year, Kleinsmith won the Parow Talent Search competition where she competed with not only singers, but dancers too.
Kleinsmith was part of the KFM singer-songwriter competition and chosen to be one of the top 10 singer-songwriters in Cape Town. Her first single, ‘Smile’ was released through this competition and performed on KFM Radio and on the Grand Arena stage.
She has opened for Craig Lucas and partnered with Bluroom Records on a collaborative EP called the Bluroom Series. The songstress has recorded 5 songs for the EP which have been released. Two of the songs were playlisted on Cape Town’s Heart FM and Hot 919 in Johannesburg. Music videos for 4 of the songs have been released to YouTube.
Her most recent project was the release of her newest single, ‘Will I Ever’. It has been playlisted on KFM and Smile FM thus far. Kleinsmith enjoys gigging around Cape Town and busking at the V&A Waterfront regularly, while still writing music daily.
It is just the beginning for this artist. Kleinsmith looks forward to her continued journey of discovery through music, and invites you to follow the excitement!
