The Wentzel family from Macassar in the Western Cape and music are synonymous when spoken of in general. The N2 band, a well known musical group, features prominent members of the Wentzels.
Neugen and Noël Wentzel started a musical duet in 1987. The name N2 is derived from their shared initials. The band built up a strong following as they became ever popular with their music and style. The duet changed their status to trio when younger brother Adrian teamed up a few months down the line. The size of the band grew as the demand for their superb performance increased. N2 shared the stage with several brilliant local musicians including Don Vino, Gavin Minter, Vicky Sampson, Jimmy DluDlu, Ernie Smith and Dane Francis.
N2 built a strong reputation with their performances in Western Cape venues such as Sherwood Lounge in Mannenberg, Midnight Moves in Bellville, Club Galaxy and West-End in Athlone, 30’ Something, Razzmatazz and The Blue Note in Port Elizabeth. Their first international performance was booked for a private sixtieth birthday celebration in München, Germany. N2 has been performing annually in top hotels in the UAE and Doha for more than a decade. The Band still draws a huge following of music lovers across South Africa as well as international. N2 is on a continuous mission to deliver exceptional entertainment to music lovers worldwide.
