First Thursdays at the Silo District event is back on 2 November 2023, sponsored by American Express.
Mmino Melodies is a band from Khayelitsha established in 2017. The band, led by Moamohau Moahloli, performs fused genres influenced by the vast global culture (reggae, umbhaqanga, kwaito hip hop, old school jams, modern rhythms, ska, salsa and rumba).
The band has shared stages with Mafikizolo, Hot Stix Mabuse and Zahara. The band rocked Up The Creek’s 30th anniversary and perform regularly at MOJO market, Sgt Pepper and Hout Bay Harbour Market. Mmino Melodies have busked at the V&A Waterfront, performed at markets around Cape Town and club venues.
This 5-piece band is flexible. It can accommodate up to 8 performers and be reduced to a 3-piece acoustic set.
