CANSA Shavathon is one of South Africa’s most compelling citizen events and the one that has the full support of the broadest range of South Africans imaginable. It is unrivalled in terms of the size of its footprint and its penetration into different communities and settings. Ordinary citizens, representing every social grouping in our country, have embraced the event with enthusiasm as it provides them with a highly symbolic way of showing their solidarity with cancer survivors and to fight back against the disease. The event is also very popular as a team building opportunity and gives people that wish to make a contribution to the cancer cause, the opportunity to volunteer for CANSA – South Africa’s premier cancer organisation.
For a donation of R50 for adults or R25 for children under 12 you can get your hair sprayed or shaved.
