V&A Waterfront Take the Stage series presented by MTN is a platform for emerging South African musicians and musical ensembles to showcase their talents at V&A Waterfront. Experience these emerging artists live for a series of pop-up performances starting November 2023 until the end of March 2024 which are free for all to attend.

You are destined to be a musical powerhouse when the streets in Belhar that you grew up on were named after instruments and composers! From a young age Claire Phillips had a burning passion for music and taught herself to play piano, saxophone and drums but once she picked up the bass guitar she knew she found her musical soulmate. Claire is recognised and respected as a vocalist, songwriter, producer and artist What makes Claire’s musical process an experience that can literally be felt in your core is the fact that her process is raw and real She has built a reputation for starting a new song with just a bass line, what follows is the creation of a perfect melody and lyrics that flow naturally.
