18 Aug 2021 From the upper balcony, outside Ocean Basket, Wimpy and McDonalds, you have access to an outstanding view of the Cape Wheel with Table Mountain peeking behind it. Create a cool video of the rotating passenger wheel or of the clouds rolling in like a table cloth over the flat mountaintop. Local designer Porky Hefer has created several yellow frames around the city to celebrate Table Mountain being named one of the New 7 Wonders of Nature. Two of them exist in our neighbourhood, and if you hop up into the frame, you’ll get the most magnificent snap of you and the majestic mountain. One lies between Den Anker and La Parada, and the other stands above the staircase alongside the Zeitz MOCAA. It offers a snap of Cape Town’s few inner-city skyscrapers with Table Mountain towering much higher above. Stand proudly between the four South African Nobel Peace Prize winners cast in bronze on Nobel Square, created by artist Claudette Schreuders. Have your moment in the sun with Albert Luthuli, Archbishop Desmond Tutu and former Presidents Nelson Mandela and FW De Klerk.
