Come cheer for these superstars in their exciting Women’s Day basketball tournament. 11am – 3pm Battery Park Court Tango class Join free beginners’ tango classes hosted by Waterfront Tango Social Series. They will be held between Sí and The Yard at the Silo District. Professional performances of the Argentine Tango will give you a real taste of this sultry Latino expression of dance. We’ll be featuring other women performance artists in the Silo District throughout the day. Tango 3pm – 6pm Performance artists 11:30am – 6pm Silo District Art exhibition The Emerging Artist Programme and FAME Week Africa are hosting an exhibition that celebrates women, featuring 25 visual artists from Cape Town. It has been co-curated alongside The Justice Desk’s ‘A Girl with a Dream’ exhibition. Emerging Artist Programme is a City of Cape Town Arts and Culture initiative that helps emerging artists access opportunities to promote their work and develop their profession. The Justice Desk promotes the power of everyday activism by creating a community of ‘everyday activists’ and human-rights defenders who can create change in their communities 9 – 22 August Victoria Wharf Centre Court (Outside H&M)
