Get the kids cooking at Mini Makers The Enchanted Kitchen is returning to Makers Landing these winter holidays for a magical cooking and baking experience with The Charming Chef and My Hungry Husband. At the Mini Makers Winter Edition, kids aged 5 to 12 can spend the morning making new friends, exploring the kitchen and learning how to make two dishes. These fun classes, which run until 16 July 2023 and cost R350 per day, will focus on themes such as ‘Rainbow Foods’, ‘Flavours of South Africa’ and ‘Science and Baking’. Volunteer for Mandela Day Ladles of Love, one of South Africa’s biggest community food non-profits, is gearing up to achieve the highest number of volunteers doing 67 minutes to make items that help nourish, nurture and grow young children. Keen to play your part? Become one of the 6 700 people donating their time for 67 minutes on Mandela Day, 18 July 2023, at the Oranjezicht City Farm Market at the V&A Waterfront. Have an indoor adventure at PlayDate Superpark If you thought fun was out of the question for your kids during miserable weather, think again! Get ready for the Netball World Cup The world’s biggest netball tournament is heading to Cape Town, where 16 countries (including South Africa) will battle it out to win the sport’s most prestigious title between 28 July and 6 August 2023. Ahead of the big event, the Netball World Cup trophy will be touring the country – and it will be making a stop in our neighbourhood! If you’re a fan of netball, head to the V&A Waterfront Amphitheatre Stage on Sunday 9 July 2023 between 11h00 and 14h00 to see the trophy in person and take a picture. Eat and dance the night away at Night Feast Night Feast takes the V&A Waterfront’s famous Feastival and expands it across the entire V&A precinct. Makers Landing, the Silo District, the Amphitheatre Stage and the Two Oceans Aquarium come alive on the last Friday of the winter months with a celebration of food, culture and music. The edition of this sensational festival taking place on Friday 28 July 2023 will feature some of the best bands and DJs in South Africa, as well as dining experiences from internationally acclaimed chefs and tasty meals from tenants across our neighbourhood.
