Join us for an exciting variety of children’s and teen’s workshops at the Zeitz MOCAA Centre for Art Education, which will take place over the March holiday.
In the Children’s Workshops, children will be encouraged to explore a range of different wet and dry mediums, including painting, drawing, collage, 3-D construction, and print-making. They will also get to explore the creative possibilities of various materials in a nurturing and child-friendly space. All materials are provided. Children should wear clothes that can get dirty or bring along an apron.
The Young Apprentice programme is a series of curated fashion-related workshops, led by designers and facilitated by art educators. The workshops are aimed at teenagers between the ages of 13-17 who are interested in style, colour and designing and will explore creative ways of making, drawing and shaping fashion.
Participants will explore the craft of making fashion that includes weaving, pattern-making, recycling found materials, and sculpting. The workshops will explore a range of themes and encourage creative projects through a range of materials, using collage and creative thinking to explore ways of talking about traditional crafts and contemporary fashion practices.
