Forget TV licences, satellite subscriptions or having serious FOMO when it comes to the World Cup. Instead, grab your buddies and watch the games at Cape Town Comedy Club!
For World Cup 2018, Cape Town Comedy Club will be screening five matches for free, including the quarter-final, semi-final and final. Entrance is on a first come, first served basis and some of the Mother’s City finest comedic talent will be your hosts, serving up humour with their football knowledge (or lack thereof).
Just like the Mother’s City’s own World Cup stadium, Cape Town Comedy Club is a prized venue. Its home is The Pumphouse in the V&A Waterfront and the fearless and downright hilarious captain of the team is owner, Kurt Schoonraad. He’ll be in the audience supporting whichever team scores the most goals.
The venue, with full bar and restaurant, has hosted international comedy stars like Christopher Titus as well as local legends, including Barry Hilton and Marc Lottering, to name a few. Once again, Cape Town Comedy Club is showing off its versatility, hospitality and innovation by welcoming football fans to an experience where sport and comedy meet.
