Join us for a vibrant and meaningful celebration as Monkeybiz South Africa marks 25 years of transforming lives through art, culture, and community empowerment. This milestone event honours a quarter-century of championing women’s economic independence through the age-old craft of traditional South African beadwork.
Founded in Cape Town in early 2000, Monkeybiz is a proudly non-profit organisation that has become a global symbol of innovation, social impact, and artistic excellence. With a focus on women’s empowerment, Monkeybiz provides sustainable income-generating opportunities to over 200 bead artists from under-resourced communities, offering dignity, creativity, and purpose in every stitch.
This special anniversary event invites you to experience the heart and soul of the project — from one-of-a-kind, hand-beaded artworks to inspiring stories of resilience and hope. Expect an immersive exhibition showcasing bold, imaginative pieces that blend traditional beadwork with contemporary design — a true testament to South Africa’s rich heritage and future-forward creativity.
Whether you’re a collector, supporter of social change, or simply curious about the extraordinary power of craft, this is an event not to be missed. Meet the artists behind the work, explore exclusive pieces available for purchase, and learn how each beaded animal or artwork contributes to long-term, sustainable impact.
Celebrate with us and be part of a story that has redefined the way the world sees African art, women’s potential, and community-led transformation. Your presence not only honours the past 25 years but helps shape the next 25.
