Energy Observer is the first self-sufficient vessel capable of drawing its energy from nature while aiming to preserve it. Designed from a legendary award-winning catamaran, Energy Observer is a laboratory for the ecological transition, conceived to push back the limits of zero-emission technologies. Hydrogen, solar, wind, and hydropower: all solutions have been experimented with, tested, and optimized onboard, to make clean energies a practical reality accessible to all.
Appointed in 2018 as the first French ambassador for the 17 Sustainable Development Goals set by the United Nations, our vessel’s endeavor is to raise awareness about the ecological transition issues and to explore solutions to demonstrate that another energy future is possible.
The Energy Observer Foundation village, an itinerant structure open to the public, is home to an immersive general interest exhibition. Exclusive movies about Africa’s energy transition will be broadcasted in the structure as part of the event’s program.
