Three new flagship restaurants at the V&A Waterfront

The La Colombe Group, headed by Scot Kirton, opens two new restaurants in our neighbourhood: The Waterside Restaurant and PIER. Both are located in the Pierhead building (between NSRI and Life Grand Café).

The Waterside Restaurant
Head Chef: Roxy Mudie
The Waterside Restaurant offers the more casual experience of the two restaurants. It is situated on the ground floor of the building, with a scenic deck from which to enjoy ocean views. Diners can choose between a four-course menu or an eight-course tasting menu. Expect dishes such as crayfish served with coconut and fennel, umami broth and caviar, and pork belly with scallops and corn.

PIER Restaurant
Head Chef: John Norris-Rogers
On the first floor of the Pierhead building you’ll be greeted with an intimate, multi-course fine-dining experience, with an emphasis on ocean ingredients. The Chef’s Experience includes tasting dishes such as sourdough with bone marrow and pickled fish, quail chawanmushi with aubergine and miso, and nitrogen-poached lemon verbena. The confit mussels, slowly cooked in chorizo oil, and the oysters that are poached tableside are sure to be highlights.

Cabo Beach Club
Head Chef: Ryan Cole
Situated where Shimmy Beach Club used to be, this ultra-cool oceanside venue is the most exciting place to hang out this summer, with many offerings in one location. Violet, its more upmarket restaurant, offers a menu of sharing plates, while the rest of the European-style beach club serves pizzas, salads, burgers and seafood dishes for more casual dining. Oysters, sushi, caviar and bubbly are to be found at Caviar on the Deck. And, as if that weren’t all enough, Cabo Beach Club’s swimming pool seals the deal as the perfect spot for sundowners.
