We’ve put together a quick guide of fun activities to keep the kids entertained during their break. Parents and kids can look forward to getting their hands dirty with fun & interactive classes at Mini Makers Food Camp, skating fun at Rollercade while Jolly Roger Pirate Ship promises visitors of all ages a magical adventure. Rollercade We are open Monday to Friday Monday – 1pm-3pm and 4pm-6pm Tuesday – 10am-12pm, 1pm-3pm, and 4pm-6pm Wednesday – 10am-12pm, 1pm-3pm, 4pm-6pm and 7pm-9pm (This 7pm-9pm we do allow under 16’s – for school holidays) Thursday – 10am-12pm, 1pm-3pm, 4pm-6pm and 7pm-9pm (Please note our 7pm-9pm sessions are 16 years and older) Friday – 10am-12pm, 1pm-3pm, 4pm-6pm and 7pm-9pm (Please note our 7pm-9pm sessions are 16 years and older) Saturday – 10am-12pm, 1pm-3pm, 4pm-6pm and 7pm-9pm (Please note our 7pm-9pm sessions are 16 years and older) Sunday – 10am-12pm, 1pm-3pm, and 4pm-6pm Prices R150- 2 hour session including the renting of rollerskates and safety equipment. R80- 2 hour session and using your own skates (also includes safety equipment). R40- 2 hour session of spectating and enjoying arcade games. Maker Landing Mini Makers Winter Food Camp Exciting announcement: Winter Holiday Food Camp for Kids Makers Landing is launching a food education programme for kids, empowering our food innovators, activists and entrepreneurs of tomorrow. Mini Makers Food Camp has a Winter and Summer Holiday edition. Target age: 5 – 12 year olds. The Winter edition kicks of on Monday 27 June and runs until Friday 15 July. The programme runs from a Monday to a Friday and costs R1950 for the week. The daily 3 hour programme includes the following: 9:00 Arrival and fruit snack 9:15 In the kitchen (theory) 9:45 Interactive worksheets 10:15 Superfood snack bar and water 10:30 In the kitchen (practical) 11:10 Active food play 11:30 Lunch and free play 12:00 Collection of children – one child will be collected at a time at the entrance to the Kids Food Play installation in the events area at Makers Landing (outside Sweet LionHeart Bakery) Kids Food Play The launch of Mini Makers Food Camp co-incides with the permanent Kids Food Play installation at Makers Landing in the event area outside Sweet LionHeart Bakery. Kids can play in the self-guided educational food installation that is open to the public and entry is free of charge. Play Date – Superpark PlayDate is an indoor extreme activity play park located in The Watershed. Our Indoor Play Park boasts a 350 Square meters of Maze, High Line Course, Little City with Slides, Blocks, Kiddies Mini Maze. The Game Arena features Air Hockey, Mini Golf, Target Throwing, Racing for kids 10 and older, a Pitch and Play for those with a competitive streak. Scratch Patch Scratch patch is a place where you can have loads of fun “scratching” for your favourite tumble-polished gemstones from thousands of polished stones that quite literally cover the floor. There are a wide variety of tumble-polished gemstones in the Scratch Patch, mostly popular Southern African stones such as Tiger’s Eye, Rose Quartz, Amethyst, Jasper, Agates and Crystals. If you’re lucky, you might find virtually anything including Lapis Lazuli, Blue Lace Agate and some really exotic stones! Cave Golf This highly-rated, fun and challenging 18-hole course meanders downwards from the back of the Scratch Patch and through a series of underground areas that feature rock walls, some highly imaginative cave and mine obstacles and ancient relics, an underground waterfall, and fabulous mineral displays that are imbedded in the surrounding rock just as they were originally discovered Jolly Roger Pirate Ship The Jolly Roger, the only pirate boat in South Africa, offers the young at heart an authentic adventure-filled experience and is particularly popular as a party boat for themed year-end functions, bachelor and bachelorettes and for families with young children.
