The Wedgewood Gifting & Hamper Emporium at the V&A Waterfront is a wonderous world of confectionery for discerning foodies, ice cream lovers and confectionery connoisseurs who want to experience something out of the ordinary. Situated in the Castle Union Building at the V&A, this beautifully designed store is one of five across South Africa, where Wedgewood’s world first recipes are celebrated. Whether it is through innovation of new products, such as their fiendishly good world-first nougat ice cream or their wonderous world-first nougat biscuits, the ‘Inventors of Wonderful Things’ are continually on a quest to bring innovation to their followers in South Africa.
Wedgewood Crafted Confectionery is a 25-year-old South African family business known for its sustainably sourced, beautifully handmade nougat, nougat biscuits, nougat ice cream and hampers. And they love gift wrapping so you don’t have to! Born in the family kitchen, Wedgewood is the story of a mother’s perseverance to support her family through her love of food. Gilly Walters created several world-first recipes including the world’s creamiest ice cream, as part of a business that has giving back at its heart. Wedgewood’s artisanal products are still handmade by her family in small batches on the Wedgewood farm in the KZN Midlands.
Dedicated to protecting the planet for future generations, Wedgewood is making a difference to causes close to its heart, offering income to vulnerable communities in South Africa, supporting Early Learning Education projects, engaging in wildlife protection, and creating a solution for the fight against plastic. Wedgewood Emporiums are now 1% for the Planet with 1% of Emporium’s revenue given back to causes championing the earth and their products are 100%Plastic Neutral
