23 Oct 2025 Cape Town, 23 October 2025. Creativity takes centre stage as Design Week South Africa 2025 arrives in the Mother City from 23 – 26 October 2025, in partnership with the V&A Waterfront’s Watershed to showcase design leaders and creative innovators in Cape Town. All events and activities are free and open to the public. Following a successful Johannesburg edition earlier this month, Design Week Cape Town will celebrate the city’s creative culture. Over the four days, design enthusiasts can look forward to an inspiring line-up of workshops, exhibitions, tours, and pop-ups across the V&A Waterfront neighbourhood. — showcasing the power of design to drive innovation, inclusion, and collaboration. The curated programme features public art walks, creative workshops and interactive experiences that spotlight both emerging and established talent, along with talks and panel discussions led by renowned local and global designers exploring themes of sustainable design, circular economies, and the role of creativity in shaping social impact. “Partnering with Design Week 2025 felt like a natural fit for the V&A Waterfront’s Watershed. said Alex Kabalin, Retail Executive at the V&A Waterfront. “Over the past decade, the Watershed has cemented its place as Cape Town’s go-to destination for vibrant craft and design. Today, it continues to serve as a curated space for both emerging and established brands, with more than 150 tenants across ceramics, art, jewellery, and more, taking African art and design to the world. This partnership celebrates Cape Town’s design story, and we’re excited to be part of the conversation and collaborative journey at this year’s Design Week. We invite all our visitors to explore how design connects us — inspiring new ways of thinking about our spaces, our communities, and our shared future,” Kabalin added. “Design Week South Africa is a movement that celebrates how creativity can transform societies and build resilience,” said Design Week South Africa founder Margot Molyneux. “We’re excited to partner with the V&A Waterfront to showcase the talent and ideas that make Cape Town one of the world’s most vibrant creative cities.” With installations and activities throughout the precinct, Design Week at the V&A Waterfront will be a rich and immersive experience and here’s what visitors can look forward to: Accessible Art Walk Join Winston Fani, the first blind tour guide in Africa, as he introduces you to nine art installations across the V&A Waterfront, offering a unique, sensory experience that celebrates accessibility and art for all.
