Have you always wanted to run your own store but not had the confidence or knowledge to do so? 
  
This exciting partnership between the V&A Waterfront and the Craft and Design Institute will provide the opportunity for 4 – 6 business owners to spend 16 months in a learning environment – learning business skills, sales techniques and store management skills. 
 
The first 3 – 4 months of the programme involve business assessments and tailored learning and coaching, the balance of the year involves real-time training in store at the V&A Watershed where products will be displayed for sale.  
 
Applying businesses must have a clear passion and drive to run their own retail spaces, they must be available to spend time in the store – initially 1 to 2 days per week for the first 4 months and then 2 days per month thereafter.

 
Only business owners who are serious about taking their businesses into a retail space should apply. Business owners should be producing good, locally made, high quality products that have had some market exposure. Towards the end of the programme businesses will be able to apply for their own space within the Watershed, there is however no guarantee. The aim of the programme is to prepare business owners to take up opportunities at or outside of the Waterfront.
