The NeighbourFOOD experience at the V&A Waterfront: A winter of food, community and conscious choices

June 2025

This winter at the V&A Waterfront, enjoy exclusive food specials, hands-on foodie events, and sustainable seafood that supports people and planet.

 Where flavour meets purpose

From June to August 2025, neighbourhood invites you to take part in The NeighbourFOOD Experience: a three-month celebration of food that brings people together and gives back.

It’s not just about great meals. It’s about connection, learning, and choices that shape a better future.

Why The NeighbourFOOD Experience?

At the V&A Waterfront, food is part of our identity. It feeds more than hunger: it feeds our city.

It supports local business.
It brings diverse communities to the table.
It offers the chance to choose differently, and deliciously.

This winter, we’re showing how food can be joyful, impactful and accessible.

From our harbour, to your plate

The V&A Waterfront was built around a working harbour. Our relationship with the ocean is deep, and it’s visible on our menus.

One-third of our neighbourhood supports marine industries. From scientists to seafood suppliers, many of our neighbours depend on ocean health for their livelihood. So do our plates.

Why Sustainable Seafood?

More than 40% of the world’s fish are harvested by small-scale fishers. These guardians of the sea use traditional methods that protect marine life and ensure long-term sustainability.

Through platforms like ABALOBI’s Fish With A Story, you can trace your seafood from ocean to plate and connect with the people behind each catch.

Choosing sustainable seafood helps to:

Support small-scale coastal communities

Protect marine ecosystems

Create more transparent, ethical food systems

Your food choices matter.

At the V&A Waterfront, every meal has the potential to do more. Whether you’re indulging in a deal, trying a new dish, or asking where your fish came from, you’re helping build a more conscious food culture.

So this winter, eat with intention. Eat well. Connect meaningfully. Choose better!
