Now, it’s your turn to celebrate them. The shortlist for the People’s Choice Award 2025 is here, and every nominee has been chosen by you, the public. These awards honour the retailers, eateries and small businesses that shape daily life at the Waterfront and make it such a remarkable place to gather, shop, dine and explore.

From global names and local favourites, to small businesses that bring heart and craft to everything they do, this shortlist is a tribute to the variety, passion and talent that makes our neighbourhood thrive. Your vote will help us shine a light on the businesses you love most.

Best Retail Nominees

Woolworths A South African institution known for quality, innovation and sustainability. At the Waterfront, Woolworths is a one-stop showcase of fresh food, fashion and homeware.

Best Eatery Nominees

Quay Four A Cape Town icon at the water’s edge. Quay Four offers harbour views, seafood platters and timeless dining experiences that connect generations.

Santa Ana Spur The familiar warmth of Spur with a Waterfront twist. Known for hearty food and family memories, this branch pairs classic comfort with a stunning setting.

Ocean Basket South Africa’s beloved seafood brand. Ocean Basket combines generous platters, fresh sushi and a commitment to sustainable oceans.

Willoughby & Co Always alive with energy. Known for its legendary sushi and fusion dishes, Willoughby & Co is a local landmark for flavour and creativity.

Tashas Stylish, soulful and refined. With a Spanish-inspired menu and boutique café feel, Tashas brings fresh, wholesome dining to the Waterfront.

Best Small Business Nominees

Afrikoa Chocolate Proudly bean-to-bar and proudly African. Afrikoa crafts award-winning chocolate while empowering farmers and uplifting communities.

HintHunt Africa Immersive puzzle-solving at its best. From escape rooms to team adventures, HintHunt sparks creativity, connection and fun.

Lelo’s Tasty Foods Stories told through flavour. From atchars to sauces and honey, Lelo’s shares the taste of South Africa with passion and pride.
