With an MA in English Literature and an undergraduate degree in Drama and English, her work spans stage, film, and print.She is the recipient of numerous accolades, including a South African Film and Television Award for Best Short Film, the Western Cape Cultural Affairs Award for Most Innovative Young Artist, and recognition as one of Sunday World's 100 Unsung Heroes. Her acclaimed stage production #WeAreDyingHere was adapted into an award-winning poetry short film screened at international festivals.Siphokazi has performed and participated in festivals and conferences across the globe including in Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Tunisia, and Nigeria and her poetry appears in various journals and anthologies. In 2016, she was runner-up for the national Sol Plaatje European Union Award, and in 2021, she made history as the first Featured Poet at the Poetry Africa Festival.
