<div class="ExternalClass47073541486D467EA77DCED7973A8546"><p>The Settler's High are the winners of the V&A Waterfront's High School Bandslam. February saw 12 schools from around the Peninsula battle it out in the annual competition. The grand prize, offered in conjunction with Marshall Music, is a R20 000 consultation and equipment for their music department.</p><p>Competition was fierce, with all the schools bringing their A game, preforming their renditions of popular music. After 4 weeks of preliminary rounds, the finalists were chosen. On Friday 7 March, SACS, Wynberg Girls' High, The Settler's High and Milnerton High battled it out for the coveted prize. The crowds in the jam- packed outdoor Amphitheatre were brought to their feet as each school band wowed with their performances.</p><p>The Settler's High impressed the judges with their rendition of a song made popular by Mi Casa. Second place went to SACS and third place was awarded to both Milnerton and Wynberg Girls' High Schools.</p><p>Coca Cola sponsored the School Spirit Award, awarded to the school that had the best crowd participation.
