Mambu Design sells unique jewellery made from ostrich egg shells. Mambu Design is a South African company of artists and craftsmen, which was founded twelve years ago by Francoise De Oliveira and Dominic McCabe. There are now 25 dedicated craftsmen working for the company, and some of them have been with the company for 20 years. They use a variety of materials, including ostrich egg shells to make jewellery. “Mambu” (from the word “kanemambu”) means “Thank you” in Shangaan, which is a widely spoken language in Southern Africa. Mamby supplies its unique jewellery to shops all over the world, and has a stall in the Watershed in the V&A Waterfront.
