Originally from England, John has been a resident of Cape Town for over a decade now. He obtained his MA in Counselling Psychology from Rhodes University with an internship at Rhodes Clinic and the Student Counselling Centre. Through his training, volunteer work, teaching and practice, he has the opportunity to work with clients from a variety of social and economic backgrounds. He has found that the narrative we build that describes ourselves shapes who we think we are, and how we make decisions, both good and bad. Most of the time, if we are lucky, this works for us, as we transition from one life stage to the next. Sometimes, though, it fails, and we begin to struggle, without understanding why. The reasons for this can be both simple and yet complex. His focus is to help individuals and couples develop insight into why they do what they do, and from there to begin to heal, and re-discover their purpose and passion for their lives. He achieves this by providing a neutral safe space, listening to your concerns, and customizing a treatment plan in collaboration with his clients.
