Victoria Wharf retail expansion

When more retail space was needed, the V&A Waterfront set about accommodating this increased demand without increasing its footprint, or disrupting existing day-to-day trade substantially. The completed R140 million expansion includes the reconfiguration of a section of the lower ground level, the building of a tunnel for both pedestrians and cars under a major access road, and an innovative steel structure to hang from the roof trusses. This structure created both a link between two existing malls, as well as double-volume shop fronts.
