Innovative yet simple is what we strive to achieve, always recycled. Our range has expanded to include FIBRE ART bags, jackets, tablet folders, cushions and chairs. Each piece is unique. We have also printed cards of our artworks and continue to look for avenues to expand our range while maintaining a strong identity. Mission: Our focus is GREEN, constantly working on recycling options. Integrity is KEY, in our approach to creativity and one another. It is our mission to be recognised for this and to offer unique Fibre Art pieces which are affordable. Products: The technique used is free-stitch and is achieved using a sewing machine. All fabrics used are collected off-cuts; that would otherwise be thrown away. The fabrics are shredded using a rotor blade and can also be cut into specific shapes. Mohair, wool and the various threads incorporated are donated from people’s scraps and excess. The traditional technique of sewing has been deconstructed, with fabrics being torn, randomly positioned and meandering stitching. The fabrics are stretched over wooden framed to create FIBRE ART. The fabrics can also be used for upholstery, cushions, jackets, hats, the applications are extensive. The THREADS are made into small art works, which are bought to frame as you prefer, this has the advantage of been flat packed, allowing for easier and more cost effective postage this opens up a new market channel. </div>lisa@molomimi.comThe essence of "molo mimi" is creativity, each piece is uniquely created into an artwork using the sewing technique called free stitch and recycled fabrics. After completing a course in free stitch, using my grandmother's Bernina sewing machine, I started creating fibre art made from recycled fabrics. Thabisa Kameni was a domestic cleaner and was keen to learn to sew, after demonstrating the technique; she was quick to learn…….teaching the technique led to adapting unique methods for the purpose of our application. The journey together has been dynamic and supportive, resulting in a work environment that uplifts, inspires and motivates us to produce innovative threads which have a multitude of applications which we are constantly unravelling. We are now a team of four!</div>1
