A place of reflection at the heart of the V&A Waterfront. Nobel Square honours South Africa’s four Nobel Peace Prize Laureates through larger-than-life bronze sculptures by famed local artist Claudette Schreuders.
Nobel Square offers a moment to stop and remember. Created by internationally acclaimed artist Claudette Schreuders, the four bronze sculptures of Nkosi Albert Luthuli, Archbishop Emeritus Desmond Tutu, FW de Klerk and Nelson Mandela reflect the complexity of the search for an African identity in post-apartheid South Africa.
A fifth sculpture titled Peace and Democracy by Noria Mabasa, acknowledges the contribution of women and children to the peace process. Together, they form a space that is both personal and public and well worth visiting.
