At the V&A Waterfront, people come together to work, visit, create and belong. More than a destination, it's a neighbourhood of opportunity, supporting 30,000 direct jobs and contributing R45.9 billion to the economy.
A new stretch of Cape Town’s Atlantic coastline is being opened up to the city. Over the next 15 to 20 years, this R20 billion-plus development will bring new homes, hotels, jobs, public space and a protected bay for swimming, kayaking and boating. A 540-metre seawall will help protect the coastline, while a new coastal walkway will connect the V&A directly to the Sea Point promenade.

Enjoy exceptional seafood while supporting the ocean, local fishers and coastal communities.
Cape Catch is the V&A Waterfront's sustainable seafood initiative.
Working with restaurants, suppliers and seafood experts, we've identified a selection of seafood species that are sourced locally and meet recognised sustainability standards.
It's a simple way to enjoy great seafood while making informed choices.
Healthy oceans, thriving communities and exceptional seafood are all connected. Cape Catch helps make supporting all three a little easier.

The ocean is at the heart of Cape Town's identity, providing food, livelihoods and some of the world's most remarkable seafood. It also plays a vital role in everyday life, producing much of the oxygen we breathe, helping regulate our climate and providing food for billions of people around the world. Yet marine ecosystems are under increasing pressure from pollution, habitat loss and overfishing. Overfishing occurs when fish are caught faster than populations can recover, threatening the health of our oceans and the communities that depend on them.
Cape Catch was created to make sustainable seafood choices easier by connecting diners with local seafood that supports healthy oceans, coastal communities and responsible fishing practices.
Because good seafood should be good for the ocean too.

Sustainable seafood is fish or shellfish that is caught or farmed in a way that protects ocean ecosystems, maintains healthy fish populations and supports the communities that rely on them. Simply put, it's seafood that can be enjoyed today while helping to ensure there will still be plenty for future generations.
