Cape Union Mart has been equipping South African adventurers since 1933, and is South Africa’s favourite outdoor adventure store. Everything one needs for outdoor pursuits is stocked here: from gear for hiking, camping, trail running, mountain biking, snow sports, travel and more. But it doesn’t just stock a wide selection of clothing and adventure-specific footwear. It also has a wide range of equipment for the outdoors, such as GPSs, Leatherman Multitools, knives, tents, headlamps, backpacks, cooler boxes, camping chairs and gas cookers. There is also a rain chamber and a cold weather chamber where you can test protective gear before you buy it. All-weather jackets are stocked throughout the year and this store is known in particular for its wide range of hiking gear. There is a climbing wall in the V&A store where customers can do a bit of rock climbing. Cape Union Mart has stores across South Africa, as well as in Namibia and Botswana and is the sole stockist of K-Way, a South African outdoor clothing brand.
