Discover Granger Bay

A new stretch of Cape Town’s Atlantic coastline is being opened up to the city. Over the next 15 to 20 years, this R20 billion-plus development will bring new homes, hotels, jobs, public space and a protected bay for swimming, kayaking and boating. A 540-metre seawall will help protect the coastline, while a new coastal walkway will connect the V&A directly to the Sea Point promenade.

One of Cape Town’s most recognised and beloved sailing vessels, this gaff-rigged schooner has brick-coloured sails and a Jolly Roger at the mast. The Spirit of Victoria has been on the water since 1991.

Operating since 1991, this distinctive gaff-rigged schooner has introduced more people to the magic of sailing Cape Town’s waters than almost any other vessel. Her brick-coloured sails are instantly recognisable in the harbour, and watching the crew haul them up around you is theatre on the water.

She flies the Jolly Roger from her main mast, carries 45 passengers, and offers regular trips around Table Bay and the surrounding coastline. Available for half-day and full-day trips, as well as weekly skippered charters for those who want to take their time.
