Discover Granger Bay

A new stretch of Cape Town’s Atlantic coastline is being opened up to the city. Over the next 15 to 20 years, this R20 billion-plus development will bring new homes, hotels, jobs, public space and a protected bay for swimming, kayaking and boating. A 540-metre seawall will help protect the coastline, while a new coastal walkway will connect the V&A directly to the Sea Point promenade.

A 10-metre catamaran with a clear perspex roof, built for getting close to the historic harbour, the working vessels, and the enormous Cape fur seals that call it home.

The Dawn was built for curiosity. With her clear Perspex roof and compact design, she can get closer to the action than almost anything else on the water. She carries 44 passengers and runs trips of 30 minutes to an hour.

Cruise through the historic Old Harbour area, duck under the bows of vessels in port and enjoy a close-up look at the Cape fur seals lounging on the harbour fenders.

A low-key, genuinely enjoyable way to see the working side of the V&A Waterfront: the part most visitors walk past without realising what’s there.
