Hotels at the V&A Waterfront offer a unique experience inside a neighbourhood that has been alive for over 160 years.
From intimate boutique properties to five-star resorts, every hotel here sits within a working harbour, a creative economy, and a community where there’s always a reason to stay a little longer.
Wake up to the harbour and enjoy your favourite coffee spot as you experience the convenience of having everything within walking distance.
Living at the V&A Waterfront means living inside one of the most connected neighbourhoods in Africa, with everything that comes with it: security, convenience and a view that never gets old.
At the V&A Waterfront, people come together to work, visit, create and belong. More than a destination, it's a neighbourhood of opportunity, supporting 30,000 direct jobs and contributing R45.9 billion to the economy.
A new stretch of Cape Town’s Atlantic coastline is being opened up to the city. Over the next 15 to 20 years, this R20 billion-plus development will bring new homes, hotels, jobs, public space and a protected bay for swimming, kayaking and boating. A 540-metre seawall will help protect the coastline, while a new coastal walkway will connect the V&A directly to the Sea Point promenade.

Entries for all Waterfront tenants are now open, closing 9 July 2024.

The Waterfront will soon host their reimagined Tenant Service Excellence Awards, relaunched as the V&A Waterfront Neighbourhood Awards, during a glitzy evening ceremony in September 2024. The aim is to shine a spotlight on remarkable individuals and businesses within our retail portfolio who embody resilience, innovation, and unwavering dedication.

From left to Right; Melissa Ebden, Senior Tenant Coordinator; Yair Shimansky, Founder and CEO of Shimansky, who was awarded Overall Winner of the 2023 Awards; Alex Kabalin, Retail Executive; Leony Sanassy, Senior Property Coordinator; and Ngcebo Mabizela, Retail Manager.
The Neighbourhood Awards not only continue to celebrate excellence in service to visitors, but now also recognise achievement in areas such as community engagement, sustainability, merchandising, marketing, innovation, and overall contribution to the V&A Waterfront ecosystem – in essence, rewarding the tenants who make it ‘worth the commute’ to the country’s most-visited destination.

Awards will be made in 19 categories, including the new Our Better Nature Sustainability Award, Best Activation, Best Community Engagement and more – and substantial prizes will be handed out at an Awards Evening on 19 September 2024.

In a commitment to achieving a net-zero carbon emission neighbourhood by 2035, the Waterfront has recently signed a 10-year Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with Etana Energy, a licenced electricity trader. The Agreement secures 43 Gigawatt hours (GWh) of renewable energy annually, by sourcing 70% of our energy from independent power producers utilizing wind and solar farms, this PPA will play a crucial role in reducing our neighbourhood’s carbon footprint.

Adding to our neighbourhood’s tourist experiences, visitors will soon get to enjoy a trip on and off-water with The Waterfront Duck Company, South Africa’s First amphibious tour bus. The Duck Tours will operate from their ticket office at the Silo District, passing Cape Town Stadium along the Atlantic Seaboard, taking in the city’s famous landmarks and scenic views before travelling back to the Waterfront Harbour to enter the water in the Marina, behind The Cape Grace Hotel.
