Drive-through Testing Centre

The V&A, in partnership with Atter Pathology Services, now offers visitors of all ages the convenience of a drive through COVID-19 testing facility with same day results without even having to leave their cars.

Coming to the property

  • All patients are required to pre-register and pay on www.atter.co.za
  • You will receive a confirmation email, with a link to the Lab system. You should enter your personal details and passport number (if test is required for travel) into the system. You will receive a QR code.
  • Battery Park is easily located as you enter the V&A Waterfront from Dock Road.
  • After Waterway house, you take a left and will see signage to your left to direct you into the parking lot.
  • On arrival in the Battery Park parking garage, kindly present your visitors ID and QR code
  • Note that the COVID-19 PCR Test cost is R750. This covers the Laboratory fee as well as the express logistics, test and reporting needed for same day result
  • Payment must be made online. There is no credit/debit card services. At this stage, the test is not covered by medical aid providers as their rules all differ currently. Anyone visiting the V&A specifically to do the test will not be required to pay for parking in the Battery Park parking garage.
  • Test results will be sent by email.
  • All Covid-19 test results will be sent by early evening. If a re-run is needed that afternoon, we will communicate with the customers.

What are the opening hours?

8-12 noon Monday – Friday. Results out in time for your evening flight +/-18.00

Who can get tested?

Anyone can get tested. The nurses are experienced and trained in Nasopharyngeal (nasal) and throat swab tests. The lab results will be linked in to the National Institute for Communicable Diseases (NICD) database.

What kind of tests are they?

Only PCR tests are available.

How do you book?

People wishing to use the service will need to prebook on Atter. To prevent backlogs, visitors are requested to pre-register online via Atter, however walk-ins will be permitted to register on site. The system is fully compliant with the POPI Act.

How long will results take?

Results will be out the same days the test was conducted.

How much does it cost?

COVID-19 PCR Test cost is R750. This covers the Laboratory fee as well as the express logistics, test and reporting needed for same day result.
