Neighbourhood News Update: New Beginnings and Global Recognition NAC Helicopters Cape Town Soars to New Heights

NAC Helicopters Cape Town, a name  synonymous with aviation excellence, was thrilled to mark the grand opening of our cutting-edge helistop at the V&A Waterfront on Thursday, October 19, 2023.

The occasion was attended by around 200 industry professionals, dignitaries, media, clients and friends as we proudly unveiled our state-of-the-art office – promising to redefine the Cape Town helicopter flying experience. The evening was joined by NAC’s top leadership, including JP Fourie, NAC CEO and other key executives from Johannesburg. Alderman James Vos of the Cape Town Mayoral Committee, had the honour of officially inaugurating the facility with a ribbon-cutting ceremony.

This historic event marks a momentous milestone, signifying a new era of aviation excellence in Cape Town.  

As the sun set over the Atlantic Ocean and Table Bay, guests enjoyed a perfect evening gathered in style around tall white cocktail tables and in VIP lounges. Savouring select Cape wines, perfectly poured G&Ts and delectable canapés they chatted in animated excitement about all that the coming tourist season holds.

Managing Director Gary Wilson spoke of the vision for the company moving forward as we continue to add value to Cape Town as a destination. Entertainment was by the renowned electric cellist Carol Thorns, whose music in a bubble added a touch of magic to the evening. The legendary Cathy Specific (keeping with the aviation theme – almost) graced the occasion with song, a fair amount of teasing and wonderful tongue-in-cheek performance.

The new NAC Helicopters Cape Town facilities not only promise an enhanced flying experience but also provide an incredible venue for private and corporate events, complementing the flights, experiences, and charter services already offered by us around Cape Town, and beyond.

We take immense pride in announcing that NAC Helicopters Cape Town was honoured as the 2023 Helicopter Charter Company, Regional Winner: Southern Africa at the illustrious 17th Annual World Luxury Travel Awards gala dinner held on 28 October 2923 in Athens, Greece. Standing tall among fellow leaders in the industry, this remarkable achievement reflects our unwavering commitment to excellence in the aviation industry.
