From intimate boutique properties to five-star resorts, every hotel here sits within a working harbour, a creative economy, and a community where there’s always a reason to stay a little longer.

Living at the V&A Waterfront means living inside one of the most connected neighbourhoods in Africa, with everything that comes with it: security, convenience and a view that never gets old.
At the V&A Waterfront, people come together to work, visit, create and belong. More than a destination, it's a neighbourhood of opportunity, supporting 30,000 direct jobs and contributing R45.9 billion to the economy.
A new stretch of Cape Town’s Atlantic coastline is being opened up to the city. Over the next 15 to 20 years, this R20 billion-plus development will bring new homes, hotels, jobs, public space and a protected bay for swimming, kayaking and boating. A 540-metre seawall will help protect the coastline, while a new coastal walkway will connect the V&A directly to the Sea Point promenade.

The end of the year can often creep up quickly — one minute you’re celebrating Heritage Day and the next it is year-end functions, gifts, holidays, and New Year’s Eve parties… So we’ve decided to kickstart the festivities a bit early by getting into the footloose and fancy-free spirit of Spring!
These warmer Spring days are undoubtedly some of the best to explore the vast array of kid-friendly activities and treats the V&A Waterfront has to offer, especially as it is the 3rd term school holidays. And what with Spring being all about renewal and new life, we’re excited to share news of exciting new restaurants in Cape Town. We have all you need at our incredible harbour-side location, where you can soak up the balmy Cape Town weather while shopping and sight-seeing.
As you know, there are hundreds of fun things to do in Cape Town, with many of them situated right here at the V&A Waterfront. With school holidays running from 3-10 October, we’ve got the kid-friendly entertainment you need.
The Two Oceans Aquarium is a must for anyone interested in marine life (and they offer free entrance for kids under 4!). Playdate Superpark, an indoor activity park for kids, is situated at The Watershed entrance which is also nearby the pick-up point for the red City Sightseeing bus. Creative kids will enjoy Art Jamming, where they can paint their own masterpieces, while curious kids will love the Scratch Patch — a partially covered cave with a floor covered in gemstones to collect — located in the Portswood Ridge District.
Combine the attraction of new places to try, with those enticing Spring evenings. We have an exciting array of just-launched restaurants. We’re proud to include Mythos, the first Cape Town branch of the much-loved Greek restaurant group; Tang, the luxurious Asian dining experience that hails from Joburg; Tigers Milk, which is part of the vibey bar and restaurant chain; and Woolworths’ Now Now Cafe. Precinct stalwarts like Quay 4, Den Anker, Gibson’s Gourmet Burgers and Ribs and Karibu Restaurant are still thriving after many successful decades and continue to dish up community favourites.
Instead of just visiting, why not stay at one of the many hotels in our precinct? Some of the best hotels in Cape Town are situated in the V&A Waterfront — like the world-famous and award-winning Silo Hotel that sits within the same building as the Zeitz MOCAA. Also in the Silo District is the Radisson RED Hotel, one of the newer additions to our hotel scene – and it’s dog friendly. Visitors to the V&A are always impressed by the grandeur of The Cape Grace Hotel and One&Only Cape Town. Other extremely popular hotels in the area include The Portswood Hotel, Protea Hotel by Marriott Cape Town Waterfront Breakwater Lodge, City Lodge and Table Bay Hotel.
There’s no harm in getting a head start on that end-of-year holiday vibe now – especially when we’ve clustered all the best restaurants, entertainment and accommodation in Cape Town in one vibrant and diverse neighbourhood! Happy Spring!
We’d love to hear from you.
