Hotels at the V&A Waterfront offer a unique experience inside a neighbourhood that has been alive for over 160 years.
From intimate boutique properties to five-star resorts, every hotel here sits within a working harbour, a creative economy, and a community where there’s always a reason to stay a little longer.
Wake up to the harbour and enjoy your favourite coffee spot as you experience the convenience of having everything within walking distance.
Living at the V&A Waterfront means living inside one of the most connected neighbourhoods in Africa, with everything that comes with it: security, convenience and a view that never gets old.
At the V&A Waterfront, people come together to work, visit, create and belong. More than a destination, it's a neighbourhood of opportunity, supporting 30,000 direct jobs and contributing R45.9 billion to the economy.
A new stretch of Cape Town’s Atlantic coastline is being opened up to the city. Over the next 15 to 20 years, this R20 billion-plus development will bring new homes, hotels, jobs, public space and a protected bay for swimming, kayaking and boating. A 540-metre seawall will help protect the coastline, while a new coastal walkway will connect the V&A directly to the Sea Point promenade.

Judged through a rigorous evaluation process, the awards celebrate not only standout restaurants and chefs, but the broader evolution of South Africa’s food culture.
At the 2026 ceremony, the V&A Waterfront was proudly represented among the country’s top honours. This is a true reflection of the strength, diversity and ambition of our culinary community.

To see recognition spanning street food, fine dining, pastry, hospitality groups and pioneering concepts, all within one neighbourhood, speaks to the depth of talent at the V&A Waterfront.
Our food ecosystem is intentionally curated to support diversity, inclusivity and excellence. From intimate bistros to immersive tasting menus, from bustling market counters to refined dining rooms, more than 100 restaurants, cafés, bars, bakeries and grab-and-go concepts create a layered and dynamic culinary landscape.
It is a place where emerging concepts share space with established names, where chefs build reputations, where brands scale, and where experiences resonate with both local and international visitors. This balance between ambition and accessibility defines the Waterfront’s approach to food.
Recognition at this level reinforces what our visitors experience every day: the V&A Waterfront is one of South Africa’s most compelling culinary destinations. These awards celebrate more than individual achievement; they affirm a collective commitment to excellence that continues to elevate our neighbourhood and the city’s dining scene as a whole.
