Living at the V&A Waterfront means living inside one of the most connected neighbourhoods in Africa, with everything that comes with it: security, convenience and a view that never gets old.
At the V&A Waterfront, people come together to work, visit, create and belong. More than a destination, it's a neighbourhood of opportunity, supporting 30,000 direct jobs and contributing R45.9 billion to the economy.
A new stretch of Cape Town’s Atlantic coastline is being opened up to the city. Over the next 15 to 20 years, this R20 billion-plus development will bring new homes, hotels, jobs, public space and a protected bay for swimming, kayaking and boating. A 540-metre seawall will help protect the coastline, while a new coastal walkway will connect the V&A directly to the Sea Point promenade.

Our ever-growing repertoire of tenants is seeing five new additions, all of them foodie spots.
From delectable Indian fare, Chinese tea and a Japanese izakaya (informal bar serving drinks and snacks), to a traditional French bakery and Xhosa-inspired restaurant, these new eateries are bringing flavours from every corner of the world into everyone’s favourite neighbourhood.
Here’s more about the new spots:
The internationally beloved chain of French bakery-café restaurants is finally joining the V&A Waterfront neighbourhood! Located in the Victoria Wharf Shopping Centre, Paul’s Bakery will be serving up their speciality French products including breads, croissants, crêpes, sandwiches, cakes and other pastries, as well as hot and cold beverages.
Indian food at its best lands at the V&A Waterfront! Raj Indian Restaurant, a well-known national franchise of North Indian eateries, can now be found at the V&A’s own Victoria Wharf Shopping Centre. Curry fanatics will enjoy their variety of bhuna, tikka masala, vindaloo and korma culinary styles, as well as a few Southern Indian-style additions.
If you’ve ever been to TANG Asian Luxury Restaurant & Bar in Nelson Mandela Square at Sandton City in Joburg, then you will almost certainly be looking forward to the official Cape Town arrival of this restaurant. Joining the Victoria Wharf Shopping Centre, TANG is a luxurious, sensory dining experience inspired by contemporary Japanese izakayas and classic Cantonese cuisine.
Royal Tea is a Cape Town-based tea bar that brings contemporary Chinese tea-drinking culture to South Africa. The quirky tea bar was a staple feature in the V&A Food Market for many years, serving up classic bubbles, fresh fruit teas and oolong-based cheese teas in a number of flavours. Royal Tea will now be occupying a permanent space inside the Victoria Wharf Shopping Centre.
Another former V&A Food Market vendor, Seven Colours Eatery will be opening a new space at Battery Park. Seven Colours Eatery, owned by Eastern Cape-born chef Nolu Dube-Cele, is an eatery inspired by the traditional “seven colour” plates of nutrient-rich, strikingly hued food found in Xhosa cuisine. The hearty dishes at Seven Colours Eatery include tshisanyama (braaied meat), amagwinya (vetkoek), umngqusho (samp with sugar beans), umfino (maize meal with chopped spinach, cabbage and potatoes) and amazimba (sorghum).
Together with the diverse range of existing eateries and retail spaces at the V&A Waterfront, these five new restaurants in Cape Town give you all the more reason to come and visit!
